DAY 90

We're coming down to the wire here at Reaper_ETA, so tell us, what are you playing to pass the time? Are you pushing one last Shepard through ME1 and ME2, or are you hastily trying to wrap up your run of Skyrim so that come March 6th, you won't have any distractions? Be honest, will all of your other video games go on hold the minute you have your hands on ME3? Have you been running the ME3 Demo over and over again? Is there any other game out there that you play as much as Mass Effect?
23 February 2012 @ 06:42 am
DAY 89

Have you ever wondered just where Shepard's Blood Dragon Armor came from? Or how Donovan Hock managed to get his hands on a very familiar creature? Or why a certain Orlesian nobleman has a Krogan's head mounted on his wall like a trophy! Are these questions best left unanswered, or do you have fun trying to come up with real, in-game reasons for why Bioware's games seem to cross-over with themselves?

Have you ever seen a really good Mass Effect crossover? Maybe some neat fanfic or fanart? Even if you haven't seen it done, what series do you think would be really fun to cross over with the Mass Effect universe? Seriously, how cool would it be to see Shepard team up with Malcolm Reynolds? Or the Warden from Dragon Age? Or maybe the Reapers are finally defeated by the heroic efforts of Sailor Citadel! ...or is that taking things too far?
22 February 2012 @ 06:57 am
DAY 88

Let's admit it, no one will ever be better than Commander Shepard. Is there a moment in the games that really exemplifies this amazing fact? Was there ever a moment where you felt like the one making Shepard do the impossible? A heroic moment in combat, perhaps, or a choice in the story that felt all your own?

Conversely, have you ever failboated really, really hard? Maybe your first time through the Suicide Mission in ME2? A silly mistake that led to a hilarious Critical Mission Failure? It's okay, you can admit it! We've all been there!
21 February 2012 @ 09:21 am
DAY 87

Poor, poor Wreav... Will he ever be seen as more than a re-colour of Wrex? Or the "new" Citadel Council--the one that refuses to speak to Shepard if he or she sacrificed the previous Council to Sovereign--will they ever be more than a shadow of the air-quoting icons that came before them?

How do you feel about these "replacement" characters? Do you feel sorry for them because they rarely get the chance to shine? Have you ever specifically killed off their predecessors just to meet the replacement?

Considering how many people can die in Mass Effect 2, are we likely to see more "replacements" of our beloved characters in ME3? Will they be, yet again, nothing more than re-colours of the characters they're meant to replace? Perhaps we'll see familiar faces replace those we've lost--is it possible that Kolyat will step into Thane's place, or Oriana into Miranda's?
20 February 2012 @ 09:26 am
DAY 86

What is your favourite bit of EPIC FUTURE SCIENCE in Mass Effect? What's your favourite technological gadget? The Engineer's combat drone, perhaps? The omni-tool? The omni-blade? If you could have one (but only one!) of those neat little toys in real life, which one would you choose?
19 February 2012 @ 09:58 am
DAY 85

For those of you that haven't heard, Mass Effect 3 will offer three distinct gaming experiences that you can tailor to your play-style:

Action Mode, for players more interested in combat.
Story Mode, for player more interested in choices.
Role-Play Mode, for players who enjoy both.

Which one will you use? Will you play around with multiple modes to find the one you like best? Do you appreciate Bioware's consideration for the various ways that gamers play, or do you think that it lessens the content somehow?
18 February 2012 @ 10:40 am
DAY 84

Miranda Lawson, the "perfect" human specimen, genetically engineered to be the pinnacle of humanity. After everything she's accomplished, do you believe Miranda is worthy of such a title? Is she everything you'd expect from a "perfect" woman?

Do you like Miranda? Does your Shepard get along with her, or were you put out by her icy attitude? Do you sympathize with her struggle to be perfect and all of her self-doubts? What did you think about her loyalty mission, and did you encourage her to keep in touch with her sister? Is she your Shepard's love-interest? Are you, like so many others, excited to see Ashley and Miranda square off for Shepard's love in ME3?

What do you think Miranda will do in ME3? Will she still be with Cerberus? Will she leave Shepard's team to protect her sister? Will her argument with Jack from ME2 have an effect on her attitude towards Shepard in ME3?
17 February 2012 @ 09:09 am
DAY 83

Have you tried multiplayer yet in the Mass Effect 3 demo? What did you think? What class did you play? What kind of character did you create? Did your team function as one deadly, cohesive unit, or did you run about the battlefield like loons? Most importantly, of course... did you have fun?

Tell us all of your thoughts about multiplayer! Are you eager to experience the full version? Are you getting into the "role play" of it all? Do you plan to have your multiplayer character fit into your Shepard's canon?
16 February 2012 @ 06:46 am
DAY 82

Whether it's rival gangs on Omega, Eclipse sisters on Illium, or just random guns for hire, Shepard sure seems to have it in for mercenary groups. Good thing Wrex was freelance...

What do you make of the role that mercenary groups play in the Mass Effect universe? Does it surprise you how commonplace and glamorized the "hired gun" lifestyle is in space? It seems that every young Asari we meet wants to prove herself by signing up as a merc, and every Krogan wants to be a Blood Pack leader!

What about the groups themselves? Blue Suns, Eclipse, Blood Pack... Is there one that you like more than the others? Why? Will these groups return in ME3? More importantly... will Shepard be able to recruit them for the galactic army???
15 February 2012 @ 07:54 am
DAY 81

Is your cabin full of loot? What if your Shepard's most prized possession? Do you gleefully purchase every new model ship you see in a store window, or do find the whole idea a bit a silly?

What do you think will happen to all of Shepard's collectables between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3? Will your beloved fish make a transfer to the SR3, or will they have died (again?!) from neglect? Do you hope that ME3 offers new collectables for Shepard to find? Do you look forward to more tiny ships to add to your display, or are you hoping for something entirely new?
